Do you know what a career coach does?
(Don’t worry, I didn’t know either until I became one.)
In my practice, I generally support clients in two ways:
Career Reflection and Planning: I provide space for you to reflect on “What’s next?” in your career. I ask probing questions, encourage reflection, and provide a variety of worksheets and exercises to help with this process. I’m not a therapist, but I do act as a mirror to help you better see and understand yourself. Together, we develop a concrete plan to pursue the fulfillment of your career aspirations.
Job Search Support: For those actively engaged in a job search, I offer guidance on best practices to help make your job search more efficient and effective. This includes:
Resume tune up (or a complete rewrite)
LinkedIn profile optimization
Networking strategies (including introvert-friendly approaches!)
Interview preparation
Offer negotiation strategies
Can you navigate this journey on your own? Certainly. There are plenty of great books and YouTube videos available.
However, the value of having a dedicated partner to support you through this process is immense. Career transitions are challenging on many levels. Extra support and accountability can make the process smoother and more productive, not to mention tailored to you and your unique circumstances.
Feel free to reach out if you need support during your career transition. You got this!
