Is Hiring a Resume Writer Worth It?

katyallen64

One of the most common questions I hear is: Is hiring a resume writer really worth it?

Let me share a recent client’s experience.

Last year, I worked with a recent college graduate who was eager to grow in her career. She had part-time experience in her field but limited opportunities for growth at her company. She needed a resume that highlighted her transferable skills and clearly communicated her potential.

We worked together to craft a resume that told the full story of her experience—highlighting her strengths, accomplishments, and the skills she had developed across multiple industries while balancing work and school.

Fast forward to last month—she landed a job offer! But here’s the twist: The role was originally a part-time contract position. After reviewing her resume, the employer upgraded the offer to a full-time role with a $5/hour increase.

She reached out to share the news, saying she truly believed her resume had made all the difference. And I think she’s right!

This is exactly why I do this work. A well-crafted resume isn’t just about listing experience—it’s about positioning you for better opportunities, both now and in the long run.

If you’re wondering whether a professional resume could help you in your job search, I’d love to chat. Reach out anytime!
